SANPAC Africa limited, has partnered with VSL, in the supply of Bridge Bearings.

Bearing are devices placed between two elements in a structure (deck and piers or abutments in the case of bridges), ensuring the transmission of loads from one element to the other.

Apart from this main application, bearing devices must also allow – or prevent – relative movements (rotation and movement) of the joining elements, and have a durability according to the life of the structure they are placed in.

The most commonly used bridge bearings are the Type B Laminated Elastomeric Bearings.

These are made up of an elastomer comprising of a mixture of rubber and synthetic chloroprene and steel plates that are vulcanised together to provide greater adhesion, resistance to aging and durability to match the lifespan of the structure.

All our bearings are manufactured in accordance to EN standards.
