Environmental Behaviour
Chemical Composition
• SANPAC’s Civil Engineering nets are made from high density polyethylene.
Chemical Resistance
• Alkali resistant to all naturally occurring soil alkalis.
• Acid resistant to all naturally occurring soil acids (i.e. to < pH 2).
• The net has excellent resistance to all chemical attack.
Biological Resistance
• Resistance to attack by bacteria, fungi etc.
• Not attractive to rats or termites.
Temperature Stability
• The net is stable over a temperature range of -60℃ to +100℃ but with strength reduced at elevated temperatures for long periods.
Resistance to Sunlight
• The Civil Engineering Mesh is designed to be used in conditions where they are subject to prolonged exposure to sunlight, and contains sufficient carbon black to protect the net from high UV radiation.
• In temperate climates a life of over 15 years without loss of more than 20% of the products strength may be expected.
Applications
• Landscaping
• Erosion control
• Ground stabilization
• Plant protection
• Pipe protection
• Reinforcing grass pathways
• Animal husbandry.
